The first tooth fairy visit...

WOW! I can't believe it... Sam has finally lot her first tooth!

Her 2 bottom BIG teeth came in months ago and have been pushing her little baby teeth forward and forward and forward until they were sooooo wiggly and just barely hanging on.

Scott tied some dental floss to the tooth that was the most loose and gave her an order to 'GET THAT TOOTH OUT'. She whined, she cried, she complained; her fear of the unknown is what kept her from touching that tooth at all. When I had finally had enough of her crying that it was going to hurt or that it was going to bleed I walked over to her and said pull it out right now. She cried some more so I grabbed the floss hanging from her mouth and as she turned her head to get away from me out popped her tooth. In that instance the look of shock of how pain-free that whole ordeal was made it absolutely priceless. Her grin could not get any bigger.

The very generous tooth fairy came and delivered her $5... but this lump sum payout was a one-time thing. The tooth fairy is working on lean mean times and from now on will be paying out in much smaller denominations.

Random photos...

Whenever I have a photo shoot planned at my house in my little “studio” I always beg and plead with the kiddos to sit for just a second so that I can get the lights and set up just right before the actual shoot. Well, in doing that, I always end up with the most random of photos... ENJOY! [taken December 2011]

Someone had a birthday...

Albeit almost 6 months ago, but better late than never. Samantha turned 9 years old in January and I cannot believe how big she is. Every once in a while I will catch a glimpse of her and just think to myself...WOW, you are all mine...I get to keep you forever!! I love that she is in our family and it would not be the same without her.

A fish called Sam!!

It's sort of a given when you live in this desert land that your kids have to go through this right of passage called city league swim team. And I gotta say... BRING IT ON! Growing up I always wanted to be on a swim team, nevermind that my strokes often look like someone is having a seizure in the water, but none the less I wished I had tried. Well, you better believe that this mama is living vicariously through her kids when it comes to swim. Sweating palms. Nervous stomach. Pacing back and forth... this is usually how you can find me and Scott on the sidelines. I LOVE IT!! She was pretty good last year for her first year, and this year she really did even BETTER...bringing home 3 first place ribbons. I actually only ended up bring my camera to one of her meets, shameful, I know. But in my quest to be ever more present in my kids' lives I didn't want to be all camera-crazed, jockeying for the BEST position with all the mom-tographers videoing their super-star athletes. R...
