A little backlog... Happy BELATED Birthday!

Over a month ago we celebrated the twins' 4th birthday. With Mom Herrick passing away and the funeral and a birthday on top of it all...well, something had to give. So, here is the proper post B+B deserved...

The day started out at Sam's swim practice...

Then we all went and had a nice big breakfast at a yummy restaurant near our house...

(and no, Brooke is not in dance class...she just insisted on wearing the outfit and who am I to say no on her birthday ;-)

Then, being the greatest mom in the world (yeah, right!) I naturally gave the OK go ahead to the waitress to bring out this mound of chocolate cake and ice cream...oh yeah, and it was only 10:30 in the morning!!

These next two photos are my absolute FAVORITE... they just scream pure joy!

What we've been doing on our Friday nights...

We somehow got roped into a softball team over the summer with almost Scott's entire family as our team (minus a few who were smart to steer clear of the sign up sheet). We actually had a great time playing together and it was fun to do something different; boy were we a bunch of mis-fit toys in wonderland. We had one injury after the other which only reminds us all that we should leave the organized team sports to the next generation - we don't heal as quickly as we used to. Never the less, we did pretty good and were able to stick it out and make it through to the 2nd round of tournament games but then lost miserably and went down in a ball of flames to the tune of 24-4... YIKES! Unfortunately Scott had to work the night we took this photo at our last game... he was there in spirit! Whenever I have a photo shoot planned at my house in my little “studio” I always beg and plead with the kiddos to sit for just a second so that I can get the lights and set up just right before the actual shoot. Well, in doing that, I always end up with the most random of photos... ENJOY! [taken December 2011]
