San Diego or bust...

... emphasis on the BUST part... Well our once a year attempt at a family vacation was nothing short of a horrible disaster. The number one problem... my kids are creatures of habit and so you throw them any curve balls or adjust their schedules even the slightest, and well I was just asking for trouble. I thought I was completely organized with lots of snack and treat baggies labeled with each kids names, plenty of "new" books and activities, and soda galore for the old man and me. Well, 1-hour into the 5+ hour drive and Sam starts with the "are we there yet" and the latest question is "how many more seconds 'til we're there". Yep... it was a long drive - but little were we aware that the trip to San Diego would pale in comparison to the restless and anxious drive that was awaiting us when we would return home. I won't bore you with the crazy details that surrounded this past weekend, I will however leave you with a few of the photo highligh

Better late than never...

So the 4th of July came and went and here I sit 8 days later just now getting around to posting a little something... terrible, I know, but I do have the excuse of the babies birthday, so I think I get a pass on this one. The day was mostly spent swimming and lounging around - nothing too exciting to report - but we did venture to see the fireworks at Mesa community college which has become a sort of family tradition for Scott and I starting about 7-8 years ago. Usually kicked off with a little food from MiMi's Cafe or some other nearby restaurant, then we head to the Target right next door to pick up whatever was accidently left

Oh yeah, and I almost forgot...

... this is the way cute birthday invite that went out to family for the babies party...

We have had so much fun with them over the last 24 months... my how time flies... Things I have learned and loved over that last 2 years... 2 x as many poopy diapers (but that goes without saying :-) 2 x as many giggles 2 x the cuteness 2 x as many people want to stop and touch my babies 2 x as much hand sanitizer needed (see above) 2 x the snuggles and love 2 x the excitement and awe at newly discovered cabinets 2 x the fascination with dental floss 2 x the love for their blankies and flowers (aka their pacifiers) 2 x the cost for a babysitter - thank goodness for grandmas 2 x the enjoyment of being a mom We started their birthday off with a very big breakfast... this is them looking chipper as always first thing in the morning. Then later in the evening we had all the family over for swimming, pi
