I'm a bit ashamed to show you...

...that this is REALLY what my office looks like. I know, I know... it is literally becoming a HazMat concern! But, I post these only to show you some before pictures, because hopefully after Thursday I will have an office that will no longer stifle my creativity... seriously, how can anyone get anything done in a space like this??!! In the picture below, the contents in these 4 storage boxes plus the blue trash bucket were actually just moments earlier on top of my desk and in piles around my chair in the pic above.  Crazy I know... My "attack" mode has been driven by 4 categories... Throw it (that's 2, count them 1, 2 bags of shredded documents in that storage bin), Handle it (my to-do pile), File it, Store it... Once I figured out this method the rest came easy...so far so good!!!  But you should have seen me this morning - I was literally googling 'how to organize' and 'organization strategies' because I was so OVERWHELMED.  But, now I'm on a ro

Havin' so much fun!!!

There's not much to report... only that we are having so much fun now that Scott has passed his test.  There still seems to be this lingering feeling around the house sometimes when we are all just hanging out that Scott needs to hurry off to the library... then I realize WOW , that's all over with and then a huge sense of relief and joy come over us. It really is so great to have all that behind us so we can move on with our lives. The other day I was doing something (let's just assume it was laundry, dishes, cooking dinner, checking homework, picking up toys, or giving myself a timeout) and Sam yelled and called for me to come into her room where I assumed it was time for the referee in me to step in and reprimand one of the twins for doing something she did not like or for breaking another one of her toys...  Well this was the scene I happened upon once I stepped into her room... You could imagine a mother's delight to see everyone all bundled up in Sam's bed lay

Things just got a little easier around here...

That's right ladies and gentlemen... it's OFFICAL... Nurse Herrick is on duty!!! This has got to be one of the most exciting days of our married life. Now some would say what's the big deal about a simple test, and yes, while the test may seem simple to others and it probably rightfully is, this is a tremendous accomplishment for Scott. This is something he's been working towards for over 5 years and has struggled and sacrificed every step of the way, but he never gave, he continually persevered and for that we are so very proud of him... WE LOVE YA BABY!!!

My life...

I could go on and on... but I think you get the point... :-) Life has been a bit slow around here, and I'm not complaining. Samantha literally tells me everyday how many days she's been in school now... which makes me wonder... does her teacher have some sort of countdown in the classroom (like she is already eagerly awaiting summer) or is Sam really that smart and good with numbers.  I'm going to venture a guess and say it's the former and not the latter, however at this point I wouldn't put anything past Samantha. Brody's eyes are doing so great.  At the follow up appointment the doctor was VERY pleased with the results and actually shared with me that very rarely do they do this much surgery on one little patient... meaning that Brody had both eyes operated on, both inside and outside muscles of both eyes were cut/repaired and that is not very common.  Sure, now you tell me this doc!!!  But, it was well worth it and he seems to be able to focus on things righ
