My life...

I could go on and on... but I think you get the point... :-)

Life has been a bit slow around here, and I'm not complaining.

Samantha literally tells me everyday how many days she's been in school now... which makes me wonder... does her teacher have some sort of countdown in the classroom (like she is already eagerly awaiting summer) or is Sam really that smart and good with numbers.  I'm going to venture a guess and say it's the former and not the latter, however at this point I wouldn't put anything past Samantha.

Brody's eyes are doing so great.  At the follow up appointment the doctor was VERY pleased with the results and actually shared with me that very rarely do they do this much surgery on one little patient... meaning that Brody had both eyes operated on, both inside and outside muscles of both eyes were cut/repaired and that is not very common.  Sure, now you tell me this doc!!!  But, it was well worth it and he seems to be able to focus on things right in front of him rather than having to look at everything with his head turned to the side.

Brookie, Brookie, Brookie... holy spit-fire.  There is so much crazy, feistiness balled up into that teeny little girl than I have ever seen.  She will fight back with her older sister, no problem, but Brody knows just how to push her buttons and she won't dare try to fight back... he is way too rough with her... it's so sad but I can only imagine this is what my brother and I were like when we were this age.

Scott will be taking his all important nursing test tomorrow... wish him lots of luck!  Unfortunately the one night he needs to get a good nights rest to be at his best, I'm sure he'll be up most the night pacing back and forth with his nose in his medical encyclopedia.

As for me, well... if I can survive another day I'll consider myself lucky... or at the very least, CRAZY!!

Brody stories...

Here’s another Brody story for ya... A few weeks ago the kids put in a Wii game to play. Shortly after the game began Samantha calmly walked over to me at my desk and in a super low voice said, ‘umm Mom, Brody just said a bad word’. Mind you we have taught our kids that words like stupid, jerk and shut up are all bad words so I wasn’t sure what to believe or expect. I then said ‘are you sure it was a REAL bad word’...to which she enthusiastically said, ‘oh, I’m definitely SURE this is a bad word’. Well, not wanting to spoil the plot I told her not to tell me and that I will just have him tell me. I called Brody over and with an oh-so-cool-matter-of-fact-tone I just asked Brody what he said while playing the Wii game? In his equally oh-so-cool-matter-of-fact-tone he said [referring to the Wii game] ‘oh, I just told Sam let’s get in there and kick their ass’! I know the boy should have had a bar of soap shoved in his mouth, but really??!! How can you not chuckle...or in my ca...

Tough Mudder

Here are some videos of the  Tough Mudder challenge that Scott took part in (January 2012). So incredibly proud of these guys... I present to you... the Dirty Dads! And here is a FUNNY video I took of the final obstacle...not of the boys, but still so hilarious to watch!

A fish called Sam!!

It's sort of a given when you live in this desert land that your kids have to go through this right of passage called city league swim team. And I gotta say... BRING IT ON! Growing up I always wanted to be on a swim team, nevermind that my strokes often look like someone is having a seizure in the water, but none the less I wished I had tried. Well, you better believe that this mama is living vicariously through her kids when it comes to swim. Sweating palms. Nervous stomach. Pacing back and forth... this is usually how you can find me and Scott on the sidelines. I LOVE IT!! She was pretty good last year for her first year, and this year she really did even BETTER...bringing home 3 first place ribbons. I actually only ended up bring my camera to one of her meets, shameful, I know. But in my quest to be ever more present in my kids' lives I didn't want to be all camera-crazed, jockeying for the BEST position with all the mom-tographers videoing their super-star athletes. R...
