Mission: Organization

Here is our New & Improved office... just about 95% complete.

I'm just too excited to share the pics so rather then wait til it's 100% complete (there are still 2 more items to be built - a small file drawer cabinet and another piece I'm going to use to store my sewing machine - both of which will fit nicely underneath my work surface) here are some pics to preview.

We still have some cord maintenance to take care of as well (looks like a bunch of spaghetti right now) and an ugly brown chair that needs to be put out of its misery.

This is my new work surface area... YA-HOO... I have a work surface now... who knew!

Samantha & Scott's desk...

Scott's computer is like the mini-me version of Sam and mine's. It's kinda funny that Sam's computer is a bit bigger/better than her dad's. Tough break kid!!

There are so few words to describe how amazing this shelving unit is... it takes my breath away each time I look at it.

Ladies, you'd agree that I need more ribbon right?? This poor basket looks so bare... Ribbons n' Lace anyone?

And finally this is my new lonely trash can... it's the only thing that sits against the back of the couch (aka our room divider)... just the way it should be.

A HUGE shout out to the hubby who busted his butt all day on Thursday so that I could have this done in basically one day. I am so happy that he just stood back and let me do my thing and supported every little idea so that I could have this office. You're such a stud, baby... I love ya!!!

Tough Mudder

Whenever I have a photo shoot planned at my house in my little “studio” I always beg and plead with the kiddos to sit for just a second so that I can get the lights and set up just right before the actual shoot. Well, in doing that, I always end up with the most random of photos... ENJOY! [taken December 2011]

What we've been doing on our Friday nights...

We somehow got roped into a softball team over the summer with almost Scott's entire family as our team (minus a few who were smart to steer clear of the sign up sheet). We actually had a great time playing together and it was fun to do something different; boy were we a bunch of mis-fit toys in wonderland. We had one injury after the other which only reminds us all that we should leave the organized team sports to the next generation - we don't heal as quickly as we used to. Never the less, we did pretty good and were able to stick it out and make it through to the 2nd round of tournament games but then lost miserably and went down in a ball of flames to the tune of 24-4... YIKES! Unfortunately Scott had to work the night we took this photo at our last game... he was there in spirit! Our team captain - or the guy who *made* us do this - is Steve and he is the one kneeling with the goofy "thumbs-up smile" (and yeah, that's me next to the goof ball!) and he is ou...
