Doing our civic duty...

So for the first time in our married life we VOTED!

Both of us voted in the first possible election we could once we turned 18, but since then neither of us ever made it back to the polls.

This presidential race has been so amazing to follow, and while we are definitely ready for it to be all over with, we absolutely feel great that we have participated in this historical election.

And of course the day would not be complete without the babies... they got in on the voting action as well... that is if you consider kicking and screaming and crying for more donuts is all part of it (which I'm 100% sure it is) then they absolutely casted their vote.

What we've been doing on our Friday nights...

We somehow got roped into a softball team over the summer with almost Scott's entire family as our team (minus a few who were smart to steer clear of the sign up sheet). We actually had a great time playing together and it was fun to do something different; boy were we a bunch of mis-fit toys in wonderland. We had one injury after the other which only reminds us all that we should leave the organized team sports to the next generation - we don't heal as quickly as we used to. Never the less, we did pretty good and were able to stick it out and make it through to the 2nd round of tournament games but then lost miserably and went down in a ball of flames to the tune of 24-4... YIKES! Unfortunately Scott had to work the night we took this photo at our last game... he was there in spirit! Tough Mudder

Whenever I have a photo shoot planned at my house in my little “studio” I always beg and plead with the kiddos to sit for just a second so that I can get the lights and set up just right before the actual shoot. Well, in doing that, I always end up with the most random of photos... ENJOY! [taken December 2011]
