Now I know why...

Today, for the first time, it hit me like a ton of bricks. I get it. I am now in the club. I now know why most moms only want a family photo as their gift for Christmas, birthday, Mother's Day or any other gift-giving holiday.

Why do I know this... because today was OUR family picture day and it was everything I wanted and more. I don't care if no one looked at the camera, I don't care if we all had something stuck in our teeth... it was a picture of me and my most favorite people on earth and that right there is worth more to me than ANYTHING that could ever be purchased.

So, in honor of picture day I just couldn't help but grab my own camera as soon as we got home to get a few shots of my own since we were all lookin' uber cute. Completely random pics, most out of focus (I really am working to train Scott and Sam), but just a little sneak peek of us...

What we've been doing on our Friday nights...

We somehow got roped into a softball team over the summer with almost Scott's entire family as our team (minus a few who were smart to steer clear of the sign up sheet). We actually had a great time playing together and it was fun to do something different; boy were we a bunch of mis-fit toys in wonderland. We had one injury after the other which only reminds us all that we should leave the organized team sports to the next generation - we don't heal as quickly as we used to. Never the less, we did pretty good and were able to stick it out and make it through to the 2nd round of tournament games but then lost miserably and went down in a ball of flames to the tune of 24-4... YIKES! Unfortunately Scott had to work the night we took this photo at our last game... he was there in spirit! Whenever I have a photo shoot planned at my house in my little “studio” I always beg and plead with the kiddos to sit for just a second so that I can get the lights and set up just right before the actual shoot.
