We Love You Great Grandma Herrick!

We are so grateful to the time we have been able to spend with Scott's Grandma over the last 6 years. On Friday, May 7th at 12:30pm she peacefully returned to her Father in Heaven and I feel beyond blessed that I could be with the family as we said our final goodbyes and I love you's to her as she passed away. Scott's parents have been selflessly taking care of Grandma Herrick for the last 6 years since Grandpa Herrick passed away (ironically he passed on May 6, 6 years ago and we joke that Grandma wanted her OWN date so we waited one more day til May 7th ;-) She was 91 and would have been 92 in just a few weeks.

Whenever I have a photo shoot planned at my house in my little “studio” I always beg and plead with the kiddos to sit for just a second so that I can get the lights and set up just right before the actual shoot. What we've been doing on our Friday nights...

We somehow got roped into a softball team over the summer with almost Scott's entire family as our team (minus a few who were smart to steer clear of the sign up sheet). We actually had a great time playing together and it was fun to do something different; boy were we a bunch of mis-fit toys in wonderland. We had one injury after the other which only reminds us all that we should leave the organized team sports to the next generation - we don't heal as quickly as we used to. Never the less, we did pretty good and were able to stick it out and make it through to the 2nd round of tournament games but then lost miserably and went down in a ball of flames to the tune of 24-4... YIKES! Unfortunately Scott had to work the night we took this photo at our last game... he was there in spirit!
